You definitely don’t need us to tell you what a challenging year 2020 was for advisers.

Amongst all the disruption the pandemic caused to daily life, we’ve seen advisers (and their clients) adapting admirably, embracing new tools and diving head-first into remote working.

Here at Money Alive, we’ve been doing all we can to help our adviser community engage with their clients and thrive in this remote-first environment. We thought we’d take a look back at some of the key things we did in 2020. From keeping in line with changing regulation, to helping advisers prepare their clients to be ‘zoom ready’ and enjoy more productive meetings.

New Box Sets: Drawdown Reviews, Pension Freedoms & Business Protection

We’re continuously improving the Money Alive platform. As part of this we’re always adding new video box sets to our library to help advisers engage more effectively with their clients on a wider range of topics, and reduce their risk.

In 2020 we added several new box sets covering highly requested topics: Drawdown Reviews, Pension Freedoms & Business Protection.

The feedback we’ve had from advisers and their clients is superb.

Now Money Alive users can educate and inform and engage with their clients on more issues than ever before.

Educational Webinars: Retirement Income Scrutiny, Long-Term Care and 12 Ways to Improve Your Marketing

In 2020 we put on several educational webinars to help advisers with a variety of topics, ranging from lead generation to regulatory changes.

The highlight for us was our webinar on retirement income scrutiny with regulatory expert, Rory Percival.

We had nearly a thousand advisers attending and it was a hugely informative event.

You can watch the replay here.

Following on from the webinar with Rory Percival, in a couple of weeks we’re hosting another webinar on retirement income regulation.

This time with Alastair Black from Standard Life Aberdeen.

This webinar will give an update on the FCA’s thinking regarding retirement income and explore what advisers can do now to best prepare.

Web Forms

A theme which became clear late in 2020 was that many advisers were struggling with new business as a result of lockdowns and remote working. With lots of firms finding referrals harder to come by and typical new business channels like introducers less fruitful than normal.

In response we introduced Web Forms in 2020 to help advisers with lead generation and new business.

This feature allows advisers to place a form on their website, or a link in their newsletter, which captures details about prospective clients and in return sends that prospect one of our video box sets.

Web forms are a great way for advisers to educate prospective clients and capture leads in the process. You can learn more about how webforms could help your business by booking a free demo.

What’s next?

It was an absolute privilege to be working with so many innovative and interesting advisers and firms throughout a year like no other.

This year, we’re adding a whole range of new video box sets on topics from the state pension through to equity release.

We’re determined to grow our platform to be there and support advisers in managing risk, engaging with their clients and growing their businesses, whatever the future holds.

We hope you have a great 2021, and if you’d like to find out more about how Money Alive can help your business, you can book a free demo with our friendly team - Nigel & Charli.
