In a world where consumer experiences are increasingly personalised, the realm of video content has been no exception. Traditional personalised video platforms have provided businesses with an effective way to reach their audience in a more personal, engaging manner. However, these conventional solutions have primarily focused on marketing campaigns, using cloud-based rendering to create one-size-fits-all videos with minor personalisation tweaks. At Money Alive, we've developed Video Canvas, an advanced solution designed to overcome these limitations and revolutionise personalised video content.

The Limitations of Traditional Personalised Videos

Standard personalised video platforms typically rely on cloud-based rendering. They receive viewer data, process it in the cloud, and then generate a personalised video file by incorporating minor customisations such as the viewer's name, preferred products, or previous interactions.

These platforms have proven effective for marketing activity where broad-brush personalisation is sufficient. However, they fall short when it comes to more complex video storytelling that requires deeper personalisation and real-time responsiveness. Furthermore, the reliance on cloud-based rendering raises considerable data security and compliance concerns, particularly with the advent of stringent data protection laws like GDPR and the rise of data breaches and ransomware attacks.

Data Protection, InfoSec, and Cloud-Based Rendering

When viewer data is sent to a cloud-based processor, the risks of data breaches increase significantly.  A single lapse in data security could potentially lead to data breaches, violating data privacy laws and exposing organisations to heavy fines, legal disputes, and reputational damage. Therefore, while traditional personalised video platforms may offer convenience, the associated risks are still there.

Video Canvas: A Paradigm Shift

Understanding these limitations and risks, we developed Video Canvas, a solution that redefines personalised video experiences. Unlike conventional video platforms, Video Canvas doesn't rely on third-party data processing or cloud-based rendering. Instead, we render personalised elements in the browser itself directly into the visuals of the video and construct a series of AI-presenter video chapters to support the storytelling.

This data can be as simple as names, products and financial figures or as complex as graphs, data tables and dashboards, offering a level of customisation that is unparalleled in the industry.

Enhanced Security with Self-Host Options

In addition to our in-browser rendering, Video Canvas offers a self-host option for added security and control. Customers can opt to host the Video Canvas player and all associated content on their own infrastructure, eliminating reliance on third-party servers. This option provides an additional layer of security and control, ensuring sensitive data remains entirely within the customer's IT environment.

The self-host option also allows for seamless integration into existing systems, ensuring a consistent and user-friendly experience. With the full content bundle available as a ZIP file, including video assets, images, and player template, the Video Canvas player can be fully customised and integrated into your environment.

In summary, Video Canvas is redefining the standards for personalised video content. By marrying in-browser rendering with deep personalisation capabilities, self-hosting options, and a robust commitment to data security, we're ushering in the future of personalised video content.

A Bespoke Player for a Customised Experience

One of the key distinguishing features of Video Canvas is our bespoke player. Unlike most applications that rely on pre-existing video players and libraries, our player was crafted in-house utilising the latest web technologies to  enhance the viewing experience.

Our player is also unique in its responsive design, which optimises the viewing experience across different screens. Whether viewed on a desktop, tablet, or mobile device, the player automatically adjusts the layout to provide the best user experience possible. For example, when displayed on a portrait touch device, the player is laid out in a two-row solution (video on top, slides below), maximising the space allocated to each element.

In terms of interactivity, our innovative 'recap exercise' infuses gamification into the video journey, significantly boosting viewer engagement. Not only do viewers find these interactive elements compelling, but they also provide our customers with tangible insights into the viewer's comprehension of the content. This blend of gamification and interactive learning sets Video Canvas apart, delivering an entertaining, engaging, and educative viewing experience.
